Week 3 Schedule
Class A Week 3 Preview
B, C-1, C-2 Week 2 Top Performers
B/C1/C2 Game of the Week
C1 No. 1 Aurora (2-0) at C1 No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood (2-0)
– Aurora has survived two huge tests thus far and got 256 rushing yards and five total touchdowns by Carlos Collazo in a 34-13 win over No. 5 Boone Central. Ashland-Greenwood has allowed six total points thus far on the season in two impressive wins. Luke Lambert has seven tackles for loss and four sacks on the young season for the Bluejays. The game will be televised on NewsChannel Nebraska.
Other Top Games
B No. 6 York (2-0) at B No. 1 Bennington (2-0) – Something has to give. York has allowed seven points in eight quarters and an overtime already this season, but the defending state champion in Class B is a much different test. The top-ranked Badgers may need to go to the air a little more in this one due to York having an extremely talented front seven in its 3-4 Defense led by Dalton Snodgrass. They are perfectly capable with quarterback Trey Bird being one of the top passing quarterbacks in the state.
C2 No. 2 Battle Creek (2-0) at C2 No. 3 Ord (1-1) – Battle Creek started off the season with a one-point win over defending C2 champion Fremont Bergan. Boden Obst has five touchdowns on the season for the visitors. Ord lost to No. 1 Norfolk Catholic in Week 2 and doesn’t have much time to recover. Quarterback Dylan Hurlburt has accounted for five touchdowns this season for the Chanticleers.
C1 No. 9 Columbus Lakeview (1-1) at C1 No. 5 Boone Central (1-1) – Columbus Lakeview lost its opener to No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood before righting the ship last week. Boone Central fell on the road to No. 1 Aurora, 34-13. Lakeview’s Landon Ternus is coming off a 200-yard, 3-touchdown effort in Week 2, while Alex Christo leads the Cardinals on offense.
Thursday Night Results – Class B
