Omaha Westview | 1-1
Comments: Omaha Westside jumps over two-time defending state champions Millard South thanks to a convincing 35-14 victory over Missouri Class 6 No. 1 Lee’s Summit. No. 2 Millard South is definitely capable of making up for the first two weeks of the season with Trae Taylor III operating the controls of the offense. Bennington leapfrogs Papillion-La Vista South and Elkhorn South into No. 6 after two impressive victories in its first season as a Class A program. Elkhorn North jumps back into the Top 10 at No. 9 with Lincoln Southwest entering at No. 10 after two convincing victories. On Thursday night, No. 5 Creighton Prep visits No. 3 Millard North.

Dropped Out:
Central City | 0-2 | 9
Kearney Catholic | 0-2 | 10
OLI:
Fort Calhoun | 1-1
O’Neill | 0-2
Comments: Not really confident in any of this other than No. 1 Ashland-Greenwood, which is as much of a clear-cut No. 1 as there is in the state at the moment. Beyond that, it will be a parity filled season more than likely. Syracuse stays put at No. 6 despite a loss to top-ranked Ashland-Greenwood. Auburn comes in at No. 9 and Roncalli Catholic at No. 10 to replace Central City and Kearney Catholic. There will be some teams who will continue as the season progresses to find their way into the discussion come November.
Class C-2 Top 10
- Grand Island Central Catholic | 2-0 | 1
- Bergan Catholic | 2-0 | 2
- Cedar Catholic | 2-0 | 3

- Norfolk Catholic | 1-1 | 8
- Bridgeport | 2-0 | 10
Dropped Out:
None
OLI:
Gothenburg | 2-0
Mitchell | 2-0
Comments: The only change this week is Boone Central leaping Norfolk Catholic into the No. 8 spot after Norfolk Catholic’s loss to No. 6 Bishop Neumann. Norfolk Catholic can jump back over Boone Central with a win over the Cardinals in Week 3. No. 7 Malcolm will face another stiff test in Week 3 on the road at No. 2 Bergan Catholic.
Class D-1 Top 10
- Crofton | 2-0 | 2
- Hartington-Newcastle | 2-0 | 3
- Ravenna | 2-0 | 4
- Johnson-Brock | 2-0 | 5
- Sandy Creek | 1-1 | 1
- Stanton | 2-0 | 6
- Pender | 1-1 | 7
- Sutton | 1-1 | 8

- Centura | 2-0 \ NR
Dropped Out:
Cross County | 1-1 | 9
OLI:
Elmwood-Murdock | 2-0
Wisner-Pilger | 2-0
Comments: Crofton jumps up to No. 1 this week after No. 4 Johnson-Brock defeated the defending state champion and previous No. 1 Sandy Creek, who falls to No. 5 this week. If you are a Sandy Creek supporter, do not fret. The Cougars also dropped a regular season contest last season before winning it all. Centura hops into the No. 10 spot this week by outscoring its opponents 138-32 in two victories to open the campaign. Sandy Creek visits No. 7 Pender on Friday this week in what ought to be an interesting matchup.

- North Platte St. Patrick’s | 2-0 | 4
- Hemingford | 2-0 | 5

Oakland-Craig | 1-1 | 10
OLI:
Dundy County-Stratton | 0-1
East Butler | 2–0
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge | 2-0
Comments: Eight Man is always a struggle for us at the beginning of the season, but research will get this right eventually. Usually by Week 9, right? Loomis comes in at No. 7 this week after two impressive victories, while Lourdes Central Catholic jumps back into the Top 10. Aquinas Catholic falls to No. 10 after a loss to No. 1 Howells-Dodge. East Butler could have also been included this week as well after pounding Oakland-Craig. This Friday, Neligh-Oakdale’s visit to No. 2 Shelby-Rising City will be very interesting.
Class D-3 Top 10
- Central Valley | 2-0 | 1
- Lawrence-Nelson | 2-0 | 2
- Twin Loup | 2-0 | 5
- Burwell | 2-0 | 6
- Archangels Catholic | 1-1 | 3
- St. Mary’s | 1-1 | 4
- Wynot | 1-1 | 8
- Wausa | 2-0 | 9
- Guardian Angels Central Catholic | 2-0 | 10
- Clarkson | 2–0 | NR
Dropped Out:
Mullen | 1-1 | 7
OLI:
Boyd County | 2-0
Leigh | 2-0
Sandhills/Thedford | 2-0
Comments: Burwell moves to No. 4 after a 27-22 victory over St. Mary’s. Archangels Catholic falls to No. 5 after a loss to top-ranked Central Valley, while St. Mary’s drops to No. 6. Mullen crashes out of the Top 10 after losing to Bayard. Clarkson posted a Week 2 shutout and enters at No. 10 this week. Keep an eye on Elgin Public/Pope John despite its 0-2 start. They have a nightmare of a schedule this season, but are expected to remain extremely competitive.
Class D-6 Top 10
- Garden County | 1-0 | 2
- Southwest | 2-0 | 1
- Wallace | 2-0 | 3
- Stuart | 2-0 | 4
- McCool Junction | 2-0 | 5
- Riverside | 2-0 | 6
- Leyton | 2-0 | 7
- High Plains | 2-0 | 8
- S-E-M | 1-1 | 9
- Arthur County | 2-0 | NR
Dropped Out:
Red Cloud | 1-1 | 10
OLI :
Lewiston | 2-0
Medicine Valley | 2-0
Paxton | 2-0
Comments: It feels like moving Garden County to No. 1 is the better play at this point even though Southwest probably doesn’t deserve that after a 51-20 victory over former No. 10 Red Cloud, who drops out this week. Not bad after an idle week for Garden County. Heard too many radio outlets and seen enough ratings in the media to believe we got that wrong. All will be settled after Week 3 as Garden County travels to Southwest. Arthur County comes in at No. 10 this week.
