OLI
No. 7 Creighton Prep (1-2) at No. 2 Gretna (2-0)
– Another tough ask for Creighton Prep having already fallen to the No. 1 and No. 3 teams, the Junior Jays take on the defending state champions as part of a brutal schedule to kick off the 2022 season. Marty Brown has rushed for 392 yards and six touchdowns in three games this season. Gretna’s defense has yet to allow a point in two shutout victories and has allowed three points over the last 19 quarters. Zane Flores has performed as the top quarterback prospect in Nebraska, completing nearly 80 percent of his passes while throwing for four touchdowns.
Norfolk (2-0) at No. 10 Grand Island (1-1)
– Nobody around the state expected much from Norfolk in 2022. Somebody forgot to brief Norfolk, who has cruised to a 2-0 start with comfortable wins over Columbus and Bellevue East while looking like a completely different team from a year ago. Quarterback Kaden Ternus has played well, completing 70 percent of his passes while throwing for five touchdowns. Grand Island is coming off a home loss to top-ranked Westside.
