Class C-1 State Championship Game
Wahoo 20, Sidney 6

It was tough sledding, but Wahoo did enough to repeat as Class C-1 state champions with a 20-6 win over a gritty Sidney team at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Tuesday, November 25.

Record-setting running back Kip Brigham was held to 86 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries for Wahoo. Brigham finished the season with 2,657 yards and rushed for 90 touchdowns over his illustrious career.

After starting quarterback Alek Doty went out in the third quarter with an injury for Sidney, running back Rhys Dorcey took the snaps with Iowa State linebacker commit Keian Kaiser lining up in the backfield. Dorcey led a 12-play, 58-yard drive and capped it off with an 8-yard touchdown run to get the Red Raiders on the scoreboard with 11:55 left in the game. Kaiser would finish with nine tackles and three tackles for loss on defense for Sidney (12-1).

Wahoo (13-0) took a 20-0 halftime lead behind two Brigham touchdown runs and a 62-yard touchdown pass from Jase Kaminski to Eli Shada. Wahoo has won 26 straight games and now has won three state championships in school history.
