Sandy Creek repeated as Class D-1 state champions with a convincing 66-26 win over Crofton at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Monday, November 24.

Sensational sophomore quarterback Kam Sealey was dominant from the opening kickoff as Sandy Creek stormed out to a 53-14 halftime lead. Sealey accounted for 307 yards and seven touchdowns in the first half, rushing for four touchdowns and hooking up with Wes Biltoft, Logan Tomky, and Kaeden Schmidt on touchdown strikes through the air.

Sealey would add a 14-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter for the Cougars and added a 57-yard touchdown pass to Biltoft with 8:39 left in the game. Sealey finished the game with 475 total yards and nine touchdowns. The nine touchdowns broke the Class D-1 state playoff record. Sealey threw for 272 yards and four scores while adding 203 yards and five touchdowns with his legs. For the season, Sealey accounted for 74 touchdowns.

Biltoft and Tomky both finished with more than 100 receiving yards, with Biltoft leading the way with 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Schmidt led the defense with eight tackles and an interception.

For Crofton, junior running back Tyson Jackson rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns including a pair of 65-yard touchdown runs in the second half. Jackson finished the season with 2,468 rushing yards and 53 touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Preston Foxhoven threw for 159 yards and a touchdown pass to Jackson Lynde.

Sandy Creek now has won 25 of 26 games and does not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon with a large chunk of its back-to-back champions returning in 2026. Crofton finished the season with a 10-3 record and appeared in its first state championship game in school history.
