Wahoo: We all know about Wahoo’s prowess on the basketball floor over the last four decades or so, but Wahoo also takes its football seriously. Wahoo is in its fourth state championship game in school history and third in a row over the last seven seasons. Wahoo makes the trip to Lincoln riding a 25-game winning streak after winning its second state title last season. Over the past seven seasons, Wahoo has a 70-12 record.

Jase Kaminski (1,716 total yards, 32 total TD’s) provides a wealth of experience at quarterback in an offense that averages 446.4 yards per game. Expect to see plenty of Nebraska-Kearney running back commit Kip Brigham (2,571 rushing yards, 45 TD’s, 13.6 yards per carry) as the go-to option for Wahoo, Eli Shada (365 receiving yards, 8 TD’s) is the leading receiver, while Jack Krueger is one of the top offensive linemen for Wahoo.

On a defense that has posted five shutouts this season, Harrison Krueger (124 tackles, 8 TFL) leads the team in tackles. Shada (90 tackles, 18 TFL, 7 sacks) and Jayse Styskal (71 tackles, 16 TFL, 5 sacks) have been highly productive, while junior Logan Kelly (58 tackles, 9 TFL, 2 INT’s and Kaden Christen (4 INT’s) lead the secondary. Junior Kane Haar (76/80 PAT) is the kicker for Wahoo. As for punting, Wahoo has only punted 10 times this season.

Sidney Red Raiders (12-0)
Head Coach: Ryan Smith
State Championships: None
Scoring Offense: 35.4 | Scoring Defense: 7.8
Final NEBHSFB.com Regular Season Rating: No. 4
One-Way to Memorial Stadium: 345.4 miles

Sidney: For the first time in school history, Sidney has made a run to a state championship game in football. The Red Raiders have 10 playoff wins in history in a playoff system that dates back to 1975, so a trip to Lincoln to get a shot at winning the whole thing is the moon to Sidney. This run, however, has been in the works for three seasons as the Red Raiders have a 33-3 record over that time period.

Quarterback Alek Doty (2,444 total yards, 26 total TD’s) has been highly productive over his career and leads an offense averaging 377.2 yards per game. Junior Rhys Dorcey (1,369 rushing yards, 25 TD’s) is the leading rusher, while Iowa State linebacker commit Keian Kaiser (572 receiving yards, 9 TD’s) is the top option in the passing game.

The defensive unit has been stellar from the word go this season. Over the first eight games of the season, the Red Raiders allowed just 20 total points. Kaiser (102 tackles, 2 INT’s) is the leader for Sidney. Ben Monheiser (80 tackles) and Zech Roggasch (59 tackles, 6 sacks) help provide senior leadership. Junior Kyle Jaggers (4 INT’s) and Lance Holly (3 INT’s) are leaders in the secondary for the Red Raiders. Doty (43/54 PAT) handles the kicking and punting duties for Sidney.
