Here are the Nebraska high school football 11-Man Top Performers for Week 1

Class A

Derek Jones | Papillion-La Vista South – In a 41-14 triumph over rival Papillion-La Vista, Jones rushed for 141 yards and accounted for five touchdowns (four rushing, one receiving).

Lincoln Southeast Defense – The Knights held Grand Island to 99 yards of offense in a 30-0 victory to open its 2025 season.

Tay Tay Jenkins | Omaha Westside – The junior preseason All-State honoree opened up his season with 252 yards and four touchdowns in a 58-27 win over Omaha North.

Josiah Summerfield and Carnell Dangerfield | Omaha Burke – In a 45-9 victory over Omaha Benson, Summerfield and Dangerfield got the offense rolling. Summerfield accounted for 329 total yards and three scores, while Dangerfield rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns in the rout.

Jaydon Sutko | Elkhorn South – Sutko, a Fresno State commit, rumbled for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 30-7 victory over Lincoln East.

Jett Thomalla and Amarion Jackson | Millard South – Thomalla, an Alabama commit, picked up where he left off after a record setting season as a junior, throwing for 285 yards and five touchdown passes in a 49-7 road victory over Arbor View (Las Vegas, NV). Jackson caught eight passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns for the Patriots, who has won 13 consecutive games. Jackson is committed to Iowa State.

Class B

Nathan Axmann | Waverly – Axmann pounded his way to 258 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries in a 21-19 victory over Bennington.

Tristan Campbell | McCook – Campbell rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-15 victory over Beatrice.

Elkhorn North Defense – In a 46-0 rout of Lincoln Pius X, the Wolves gave up 33 yards of offense. Elkhorn North recorded six sacks on the night, included 1.5 sacks from Nebraska pledge Jase Reynolds.

Nate Kelley | Scottsbluff – The emerging basketball prospect accounted for four touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) in a 41-19 victory over Northwest (Grand Island). Kelley finished the night with 164 rushing yards for the Bearcats.

Markus Nelson | Norris – In a 49-3 victory over defending Class B state champion Skutt Catholic, Nelson ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns.

Ethan Nelson | Platteview – Nelson booted three goals, including a 50-yarder and the game-winner in overtime on college field goal posts, in a 30-27 win over Crete. Nelson also picked off a pass on defense for the Trojans.

Jake Russell | Bennington – Russell caught seven passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns in a 21-19 loss to Waverly. The future is bright at quarterback for the Badgers as Ty Bouaphakeo accounting for 310 yards and throwing for three touchdown passes in a losing effort.

Peyton Steuer | Crete – In a 30-27 overtime loss to Platteview, Steuer caught 10 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns.

Cade Thompson | Gretne East – Thompson recorded 17 tackles, a sack, and an interception in a 24-21 win over Seward.

York Defense – York opened the Matt Brackhan era with a 21-0 shutout victory over Hastings. Brackhan was promoted to head coach after spending five seasons as the defensive coordinator and 10 years on the coaching staff and saw his Dukes defense allow just 116 yards in the win.

Class C-1

Rhys Dorsey | Sidney – Dorsey rushed for three touchdowns in a 35-0 victory over Cozad. Kyle Jaggers added a rushing touchdowns and intercepted three passes for the Red Raiders in the victory.

Kaiden Fritz | Pierce – In a 27-21 victory over Aurora, Fritz rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns.

Turner Heiss | O’Neill – In a 47-26 win over Valentine, Heiss accounted for four touchdowns (three rushing, one passing).

Will Janssen | Syracuse – Janssen rushed for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 32-20 win over Milford.

Drew Kulus | Omaha Concordia – Kulus accounted for 297 yards and four touchdowns (three rushing, on passing) in a 36-14 victory over Omaha Brownell-Talbot.

Derek Tonjes and Cal Kissinger | Ashland-Greenwood – In a 48-0 win over Douglas County West, Tonjes completed 10 of 12 passes for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Kissinger caught five passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns for the Bluejays.

Trini Trejo | Alliance – On just 13 carries, Trejo rushed for 265 yards and four touchdowns as the Bulldogs rolled to a 72-24 victory over Gordon-Rushville. The Bulldogs rushed for 482 yards on 36 carries in the victory.

Carson Wessel | Columbus Scotus – Wessel accounted for four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in a 49-7 victory over David City Aquinas. Brady Lindhorst caught nine passes for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the Shamrocks on offense.

Class C-2

Madden Brabec | Wood River – In a 27-6 victory over Centura, Brabec accounted for all four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) for the Eagles.

Wyatt Jelinek | Raymond Central – Jelinek compiled 320 total yards, 191 of it on the ground, and accounted for five touchdowns (three rushing, two passing) in a 42-7 win over Fillmore Central. Jelinek also intercepted a pass on defense for the Mustangs.

Gavin Little | Malcolm – The junior accounted for 274 yards and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) in a 49-8 victory over North Bend Central.

Henry Prokop | Lincoln Lutheran – Prokop accounted for 250 yards (185 passing, 165 rushing) and four touchdowns in a 34-12 victory over rival Lincoln Christian to reclaim the Spirit Sword.

Austin Scheuler | Archbishop Bergan – Scheuler completed 16 of 20 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns to four different receivers in a 42-3 win over Conestoga. Gavin Baker hauled in a pair of touchdown passes and also paced the Knights on defense with two sacks.

Parker Volk, Taylon Bennett, and Jack Poppe | Doniphan-Trumbull – Volk threw for 292 yards and five touchdowns in a 36-7 win over Amherst. Bennett caught three of Volk’s touchdown strikes to finish with 160 yards, while Poppe caught 13 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Poppe also picked off a pass in the secondary for the Cardinals.
