Millard South 27, Omaha Westside 10

– Millard South knocked off two-time defending state champion Omaha Westside to win the Class A state championship, 27-10. Junior quarterback Jett Thomalla threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Patriots. Thomalla finished the season by setting Class A state records with 3,666 passing yards and 49 touchdowns. Aamir Hill accounted for 164 yards and three touchdowns, while Dallas Gaius-Anyaegbu caught a touchdown pass. Millard South held Omaha Westside to 161 total yards. Sophomore running back Tay Tay Jenkins ran for 122 yards, including a 63-yard dash to the end zone in the second quarter.

Omaha Skutt 29, Bennington 26
Game Stats
– Omaha Skutt snapped Bennington’s streak of three straight Class B state championships with a 29-26 win at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. It marked the second time this season Bennington dropped a decision to Omaha Skutt, with the Skyhawks snapped Bennington’s 46-game winning streak in Week 8. With the victory, the Skyhawks won their sixth Class B state title in school history and first since 2019. Dylan Van Dyke completed 30 of 49 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns while also picking up two touchdowns on the ground. Joseph Kolega signed off his career in fine fashion with 14 receptions for 188 yards and a touchdown. Bennington rushed for 370 yards as a team in a losing effort. Kyler Lauridsen led the Badgers with 218 yards and four touchdowns, while sophomore William Gutz added 131 yards.

Wahoo 47, Central City 7

– For the second time in school history, Wahoo took home a state championship in football after securing the Class C-1 title in a 47-7 win over Central City at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Wahoo finished unbeaten for the first time since winning the championship in 2019. Kip Brigham rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns while Noah Bordovsky threw for a pair of scores. Wahoo intercepted seven passes in the victory with Bordovsky swiping two. For Central City, Parker Zikmund and Turner Hanke hooked up for an 87-yard touchdown pass in a losing effort. Both teams return a good chunk if its offensive production from 2024.

Norfolk Catholic 27, Wahoo Neumann 13

– Norfolk Catholic stormed to its third consecutive Class C-2 state championship with a 27-13 victory over Wahoo Neumann at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The Knights, now winners of a state record 13 state championships, are on a 39-game winning streak. Callen Marshall finished with 153 yards and two touchdowns through the air to lead the Knights, while Trevin Sukup rushed for 142 yards and a pair of scores and added touchdown reception in the victory. Max Hammond caught six passes for 101 yards and a touchdown to pace a Norfolk Catholic offense that produced 334 total yards. Wahoo Neumann running back Conor Booth rushed for a touchdown to tie the Nebraska all-time state record with 50 rushing touchdowns on the season. Booth, a Nebraska commit, finished with a Class C-2 state record 2,955 rushing yards.

Sandy Creek 44, Stanton 42

Ethan Shaw accounted for 278 yards and five touchdowns as Sandy Creek claimed its first state football championship in program history with a 44-42 victory over Stanton in the Class D-1 state championship game. Shaw threw for three touchdowns and added 178 rushing yards and a pair of scores. Stanton quarterback Barrett Wilke capped off an outstanding career with 248 rushing yards and five touchdowns while adding a touchdown pass in the first quarter. Stanton, winners of the D-1 state championship game in 2023, saw its 25-game winning streak snapped in Lincoln. Sandy Creek ran the table to finish 13-0 on the season.

Central Valley 52, Riverside 12

– Central Valley claimed its first state championship in program history with a 52-12 victory over Riverside in the Class D-2 State Championship Game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Zaden Wolf rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns as the Cougars ran for 283 yards on the ground as a team. Grady Kelly added 92 rushing yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Luke Shoemaker added a touchdown run for Central Valley (12-1). Larry Diessner threw for two touchdown passes in a losing effort for Riverside, who finishes the season with a 10-3 mark.

Stuart 42, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller 38

– Stuart erased a 24-6 deficit to storm back and win the Class D-6 state championship game over Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at Cope Stadium in Kearney, 42-38. It was the first football state title in school history for Stuart, who finished with an 11-1 record on the season. Owen Littau rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Broncos, while junior quarterback Kayde Ramm accounted for 172 yards and three touchdowns. In a losing effort, Maddox Jones rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Mustangs. S-E-M finished the season with an 11-1 record.
