2023 NSAA Class B State Championship Game

Bennington became the first Class B football program to win three consecutive state championships with a 21-0 victory over Omaha Skutt Catholic on November 20 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
With the victory, the Badgers also set the Class B state record with 39 consecutive wins dating back to November 2020. As of the state championship victory, Bennington had not lost a game in 1,109 days.
Clinging to a 7-0 halftime lead, Bennington’s strong defensive unit showed no signs of letting up. It was the 10th time in 2023 Bennington’s defense allowed seven points or less and the fourth shutout on the campaign.
Peyton Sanmann threw for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Bennington. Quinton Archer rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown and also hooked up with Sanmann on a touchdown pass in the second half for Bennington.
Anthony Heithoff led the Skyhawks with 63 yards. Colin Pike, who was one of the leading rushers for Omaha Skutt, was limited with three carries for three yards. Pike left the semifinal win over Waverly with what media was reporting as an ankle issue.
