Class of 2023 Nebraska HS Football FBS Signees (December Signing Period)
2023 Prospects | 2023 Commitments | Nebraska Signees
IOWA
Kade Pieper | Norfolk Catholic | 6’4/260 | DL | 247Sports Profile
– Originally committed to North Dakota State, Pieper switched to the Hawkeyes during the season while Norfolk Catholic was making a run to the Class C-2 state championship with an unblemished record. Norfolk Catholic’s running game averaged 236 yards per game in its title season thanks in large part to Pieper up front. On defense, Pieper recorded 111 tackles and six sacks as the Knights allowed just 10.8 points per game with two shutouts of Hartington Cedar Catholic, including in the state title game.
IOWA STATE
Benjamin Brahmer | Pierce | 6’6/220 | TE | 247Sports Profile
– A huge late get for Iowa State, Brahmer was committed to Nebraska before a coaching change caused a change of heart for the pride of Pierce, Nebraska. In a career that culminated in the Class C-1 state championship, Brahmer smashed multiple single season and career state records en route to being one of the most statistically successful high school football players in state history. Brahmer finished with 3,511 career receiving yards, breaking the old C-1 record by nearly 1,000 yards. For his senior campaign, Brahmer caught 81 passes for 1,525 yards and 21 touchdowns. The yardage and touchdown output were both state records.
Beni Ngoyi | Lincoln High | 6’4/185 | WR | 247Sports Profile
– A prospect that has a frame for an outside wide receiver prospect big time college coaches seem to like at 6’4, Ngoyi struggled to make a huge impact as a senior at Lincoln High for a variety of reasons. Faced with inconsistent quarterback play where the passing game was not much of a factor, Ngoyi caught 12 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns for the Links in seven games. Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Washington were amongst Ngoyi’s top offers as well as a handful of Big 10 and Big 12 schools before Ngoyi picked the Cyclones.
PWO
Wyatt Archer | Omaha Skutt | 5’10/180 | DB
– In 2022, Archer rushed for 639 yards and five touchdowns for a Class B quarterfinalist. On defense, Archer recorded 83 tackles and picked off a pass for the Skyhawks.
KANSAS STATE
Simon McClannan | Millard South | 6’1/165 | Punter | 247Sports Profile
– McClannan earned First Team All-State honors according to the Omaha World-Herald as a senior after averaging 37.1 yards per punt with nine of his 26 punts landing inside the 20. Out of his available stats on MaxPreps which are likely incomplete, in nine games out of McClannan’s 54 kickoffs, 32 went for touchbacks. Accuracy is not an issue for McClannan, as he connected on 8 of 9 field goals for the season on a Class A quarterfinalist. (PWO)
OKLAHOMA
Kade McIntyre | Fremont Bergan | 6’4/220 | WR/TE | 247Sports Profile
– As a junior, McIntyre helped Fremont Bergan win its first state championship in football since 1979 along with his brother Koa, who is now on the roster at the University of Wyoming. Blessed with larger frame than his brother, Kade was a can’t miss talent at wide receiver for the Knights over his career, catching 107 passes for 1,758 yards and 24 touchdowns. As a senior, McIntyre finished with 953 total yards and 16 touchdowns with most of his damage coming on the ground. An All-State selection on defense in 2022, McIntyre recorded 73 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
OKLAHOMA STATE
Zane Flores | Gretna | 6’3/190 | QB | 247Sports Profile
– A record-setting prospect, Flores hoped onto the radar as just a freshman before developing into one of the best high school quarterbacks Nebraska has ever produced before he was all said and done. A state champion as a junior, Flores set a state record with 9,163 passing yards over his career. As a senior on a state runner-up, Flores threw for 3,111 yards and 31 touchdowns to finish with 82 touchdown strikes for his career. Missouri, Pittsburgh, and Washington were amongst other suitors for Flores.
