Bennington (13-0) 38, Omaha Gross (12-1) 14
Bennington claimed its second straight state championship in Class B with a 38-14 victory over Omaha Gross to finish the season unbeaten.
The Badgers, who have now won 26 straight games, were led by quarterback Trey Bird‘s 202 passing yards and two touchdowns. Shifty junior running back Nick Colvert added 125 rushing yards and a pair of scores while Isaac Conner caught four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, doing most of his damage in the first half as Bennington raced out to a 21-7 lead.
Omaha Gross junior quarterback Colby Duncan threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns. After a season as one of the most productive running backs in the state, Jake Garcia signed off his career with 91 rushing yards and a 14-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.
Cooper Mlnarik led the Badgers defense with nine tackles, while Weston Heinemann recorded seven tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
