Comments: Top-ranked Bennington is seeking its second straight Class B title and riding a 22-game winning streak. It appears most of the threat for the Badgers comes from the metro with the exception of Scottsbluff. The Bearcats are unbeaten against Class B competition with its lone loss coming to Class A qualifier North Platte. Omaha Gross, playing up from Class C-1, has been extremely impressive as an unbeaten using its pounding running game.

Class C-1

First Round: Aurora over Columbus Scotus, Omaha Roncalli over Lincoln Christian, Boone Central over Minden, Ashland-Greenwood over Auburn, McCook over Broken Bow, Adams Central over Platteview, Columbus Lakeview over Wahoo, Pierce over Central City

Semifinals: Aurora over Ashland-Greenwood, Pierce over Adams Central

Final: Pierce over Aurora

Darkhorse: Boone Central

Comments: It appears to be a two-horse race in Class C-1 between unbeaten Aurora and Pierce. Aurora ran the table in the regular season as the wire-to-wire No. 1 team. McCook is also unbeaten. Pierce has outstanding quarterback play featuring Abram Scholting and has Nebraska commit Ben Brahmer available in the passing game. Aurora has 1,700-yard rusher Carlos Collazo.

Class C-2

First Round: Hastings St. Cecilia over Valentine, Battle Creek over Gordon-Rushville, Hartington Cedar Catholic over Mitchell, Malcolm over Fremont Bergan, Norfolk Catholic over Yutan, Wahoo Neumann over Lincoln Lutheran, Oakland-Craig over Fillmore Central, Ord over Chase County

Second Round: Hastings St. Cecilia over Battle Creek, Hartington Cedar Catholic over Malcolm, Norfolk Catholic over Wahoo Neumann, Oakland-Craig over Ord

Semifinals: Hastings St. Cecilia over Hartington Cedar Catholic, Norfolk Catholic over Oakland-Craig

Final: Norfolk Catholic over Hastings St. Cecilia

Darkhorse: Malcolm

Comments: No reason to change from the preseason, where Norfolk Catholic started atop the Nebraska HS Football preseason Top 10. Hastings St. Cecilia has been equally as impressed in its unbeaten regular season.
