Class A Player of the Week

Aric Thomas | Omaha South | WR – The 6’3, 200-pound wide receiver capped off his career with 10 catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown in a 35-28 win over Bellevue East. Thomas led Class A during the regular season with 67 catches for 1,233 yards and 16 touchdowns despite being shorted a game due to forfeit to finish with 2,055 yards and 23 touchdown receptions for his career. Thomas tallied over 100 receiving yards in six of eight games this season and over 200 yards three times for Omaha South. Earlier this season, Thomas tied a state record with 282 receiving yards and four touchdown receptions in a loss to South Sioux City. Omaha South finished with a 4-5 record this season, which was second best amongst Omaha Public Schools behind Omaha North (6-3).

Top Performers

Cole Ballard | Elkhorn South | RB – Ballard rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in a 42-6 win over Omaha North. Ballard finished the regular season with 1,142 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns for the unbeaten Storm.

Jack Baptista | Lincoln Southwest | WR – In a 42-28 win over Millard North, Baptista caught four passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns. Baptista has 80 career catches for 1,226 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Silver Hawks, who are heading to the Class A playoffs after a one-year absence.

Treyven Beckman | Kearney | QB – Beckman and Kearney cruised into the postseason with a 34-10 win over Norfolk. Beckman set the school record for passing yards and touchdowns in a season, according to KGFW Sports in Kearney.

Tyson Boganowski | Gretna | WR – Boganowski caught 15 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-6 victory over Lincoln East.

Max Buettenback | Lincoln Southeast | RB – Buettenback rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-12 victory over South Sioux City to help put the Knights into the postseason. Buettenback has rushed for 1,088 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.

Ty Dingman | Omaha Westside | RB – Dingman rushed for three touchdowns in a 63-7 victory over Lincoln Northeast.

Zane Flores | Gretna | QB – Flores threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-6 victory over Lincoln East. Flores now has 8,249 career passing yards, which leaves the Oklahoma State commit 202 yards short of the Nebraska 11-Man state record of 8,451 set by Alec Ditoro of Papillion-LaVista between 2010 and 2013.

Collin Fritton | Lincoln Southwest | QB – Fritton completed 8 of 11 passes for 245 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-28 victory over Millard North. Fritton also rushed for a touchdown in the victory.

Dae’Vonn Hall | Bellevue West | WR – Hall caught three passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Papillion-LaVista South. Hall finished the regular season with 50 catches for 840 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Devyn Jones | Papillion-LaVista South | RB – Jones rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown in a 42-20 loss to Bellevue West. Jones finished the regular season with 972 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns as the Titans are headed to the playoffs.

Daniel Kaelin | Bellevue West | QB – Kaelin completed 19 of 29 passes for 357 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-20 win over Papillion-LaVista South. Kaelin finished the regular season with 2,755 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.

Camden Kozeal | Millard South | QB – Kozeal completed 16 of 22 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns while picking up a touchdown run in a 34-14 win over Lincoln High.

Isaiah McMorris | Bellevue West | WR – It has been no surprise McMorris has drawn FBS interest after his huge junior season for the Thunderbirds. McMorris caught eight passes for 139 yards and a touchdown in a 42-20 victory over Papillion-LaVista South. McMorris finished the regular season with 65 catches for 1,087 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Blayke Moore | Gretna | WR – Moore caught six passes for 161 yards in a 28-6 win over Lincoln East.

Payton Prestito | Papillion-LaVista | RB – Prestito rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-29 loss to North Platte. Prestito has quietly rushed for 1,069 yards and nine touchdowns this season for the playoff bound Monarchs. Without question, Prestito is putting himself in position to be one of the top returning running backs in Class A for 2023.

Brock Roblee | North Platte | RB – Roblee rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown in a 36-29 win over Papillion-LaVista. Roblee has 1,143 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season for the playoff bound Bulldogs.

Dylan Sheard | Omaha South | ATH – The junior caught a pair of touchdown passes in a 35-28 win over Bellevue East to finish with 50 catches for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns for the Packers.

Daeshawn Tolbert | Omaha South | QB – Tolbert threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-28 win over Bellevue East. Tolbert finished with 2,250 passing yards and 23 touchdowns this season. Caden VerMaas | Millard North | ATH – The explosive VerMaas capped off a stellar sophomore campaign with 106 yards and a two touchdowns in a 42-28 loss to Lincoln Southwest. VerMaas finished with 10 rushing touchdowns while returning two punts for a touchdown and will be a prospect to watch out for in the recruiting world in the very near future. His stock will skyrocket this spring as more Power 5 schools catch a glimpse of his tape.
