Nebraska HS Football Week 8 Thursday Night Recaps
Class A
No. 3 Omaha Westside (7-1) 41, No. 9 Millard South (4-4) 34 (OT)
Junior quarterback Anthony Rezac had another massive game for No. 3 Westside, leading his team on a 15-play, 80-yard drive that covered over five minutes to drive Westside to a tying score at the end of regulation. Jaylen Lloyd, Trevor Spady, his twin brother Teddy Rezac came up with huge grabs as part of the drive. Tristan Alvano booted a 24-yard field goal with :24 remaining to tie the score at 34 and send the game into overtime.
Rezac hit Spady on a 5-yard touchdown pass on the first possession of overtime to give Westside a 41-34 lead. Vanderbilt baseball commit Camden Kozeal was picked off by Ty Keifer on Millard South’s possession in the extra session to preserve the victory for No. 3 Westside.
Kozeal showed why he is the most underrated senior quarterbacks in the state of Nebraska for Millard South. Kozeal’s disappearing act from the grasp of a sure sack to complete a pass to Gavin Nunnally for 45 yards with just over six minutes remaining in the game was a play for the ages. Kozeal capitalized on his heroic play with a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:39 left in the game. An errant snap caused a two-point pass attempt to fall incomplete to make Millard South’s lead 34-31.
Trailing 14-0 after the first quarter, Omaha Westside got to work. Anthony Rezac rushed for two touchdowns in the second quarter, including an 89-yard run with 7:07 left before halftime to tie the score at 14. Alvano kicked a 31-yard field goal just before halftime to give Westside a 17-14 lead.

Lloyd caught eight passes for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Teddy Rezac finished with four catches for 107 yards.
Kozeal accounted for 280 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort for the Patriots. Millard South is still in good shape in District A-1 despite the loss and appears to be headed to the postseason.

A Peyton Strong touchdown run with 3:33 left in the fourth quarter pulled Millard West back to 23-20. Millard West’s onside kick attempt went out of bounds, giving the ball back to the Silver Hawks.
Cal Newell unofficially rumbled 226 yards and three touchdowns in the first three quarters in a valiant effort, but was ineffective in the second half as he dealt with cramps. Lincoln Southwest got on the scoreboard on a 10-play, 58-yard drive capped off by a 1-yard Newell touchdown run.
