Class A
No. 10 Millard South (2-3) 22, Lincoln East (3-3) 21
– Simon McClannan‘s 37-yard field goal with 6:48 remaining, his third of the game, was the difference as Millard South survives.
Class B
No. 6 Omaha Skutt (4-2) 23, No. 7 Lincoln Pius X (3-3) 8
– Maccoy Holtam rushed for two touchdowns and intercepted a pass in the final minute as Omaha Skutt defeated Lincoln Pius X. In the second quarter, Iowa State commit Wyatt Archer stripped a Lincoln Pius X player heading the end zone, which the Skyhawks recovered for a touchback. Two plays later, Holtam raced 64 yards for a touchdown to give Omaha Skutt a 13-0 lead. Just before halftime, a field goal boosted the Skyhawks to a 16-0 lead at halftime. The Thunderbolts answered with a 34-yard Matt Bohy touchdown run. After a two-point conversion, Pius X halved the lead to 16-8. After making a huge defensive play on fourth down in the fourth quarter, Holtam scored again from 20 yards out to give the Skyhawks a 23-8 lead. Sophomore quarterback Kolbe Volkmer did all he could to ignite a late rally, but fell short. Holtam intercepted a pass with :34 remaining to preserve the victory.
Mount Michael (3-3) 66, Omaha Westview (1-5) 19
– Mount Michael exploded out of the gates to a 45-13 halftime lead after leading by eight points after the first quarter. The Knights are now 3-3 on the season. Jake Harris rushed for four first half touchdowns, while quarterback William Brewster threw for 151 yards and a score in the first half for Mount Michael.
Class C-2
No. 1 Norfolk Catholic (6-0) 28, No. 3 Battle Creek (4-2) 7
– Karter Kerkman scored on a two long touchdown runs in the second half to break open a tight game as the top-ranked Knights survived No. 3 Battle Creek. Kerkman’s 54-yard run with 6:37 left gave Norfolk Catholic a 28-7 lead. After a scoreless first quarter, Carter Janssen found Kerkman on a 63-yard touchdown pass with 7:49 remaining in the second quarter. Norfolk Catholic took a 7-0 lead into intermission. Trent Uhlir scored on an 11-yard run in the third quarter for Battle Creek, who fall to 4-2 on the season.
