Comments: No. 1 Omaha Westside and No. 3 Bellevue West is the headliner this week. Millard South remains at No. 6 despite its loss to No. 4 Elkhorn South. Papillion-LaVista South, at 3-0, is up one spot to No.. 8 and has a big-time encounter with aforementioned Elkhorn South this week. Kearney debuts at No. 9, which the ratings representative in Omaha had correctly from the preseason. The biggest questions about the Bearcats have basically been answered after two weeks. Grand Island remains at No. 10 because there is no reason to move them due to a loss to No. 1 Omaha Westside. Not a believer of dropping a team in a ranking based system after losing to a team with a higher ranking. The higher ranked team was ahead in the rankings for a reason. Were they not?

Player of the Week

Te’Shaun Porter | Omaha North | RB – In a 14-13 win over Millard West, Porter rushed for 256 yards and a touchdown and helped win the game on a 45-yard touchdown pass to freshman Khalil Davis in the fourth quarter. Porter has already rushed for 200 yards or more in both games this season after rushing for more than 1,600 yards last season.

Julian Babahanov | Lincoln High | ATH – Filling in at quarterback, Babahanov rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a touchdown pass in a 62-12 win over Omaha Northwest.

Cole Ballard | Elkhorn South | RB – In a 31-28 win over Millard South, Ballard rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns.

Jack Baptista | Lincoln Southwest | WR – Bapista caught five passes for 169 yards in a 29-7 victory over Columbus.

Rowdy Bauer | Norfolk | RB – Accounted for 115 total yards and three touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 rushing) in a 42-0 win over Bellevue East.

Treyven Beckman | Kearney | QB – Beckman completed 9-of-10 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-21 victory over Fremont.

Collin Fritton | Lincoln Southwest | QB – In a 29-7 win over Columbus, Fritton accounted for 282 total yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

Jeremiah Gorham | Omaha Bryan | ATH – Gorham rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-19 loss to Omaha Benson.

Dae’Vonn Hall | Bellevue West | WR – The elite level junior caught six passes for 161 yards and four touchdown in a 60-13 win over Omaha Burke.

Daniel Kaelin | Bellevue West | QB – Kaelin threw for 318 yards and four touchdowns in a 60-13 win victory over Omaha Burke, including a 99-yard strike to Isaiah McMorris.

Jaylen Lloyd | Omaha Westside | WR – Lloyd caught five passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-13 win over Grand Island.

Kevon Newsome | Omaha Benson | LB – The junior recorded 22 tackles and picked off two passes in a 20-19 victory over Omaha Bryan.

Cole Rickley | Omaha Bryan | LB – In a 20-19 loss to Omaha Benson, RIckley recorded 16 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack.

Kaden Ternus | Norfolk | QB – Ternus completed 17-of-23 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-0 win over Bellevue West.

Aric Thomas | Omaha South | WR – Thomas caught nine passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.

Kolten Tilford | North Platte | RB – Tilford rushed for 114 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown with :08 remaining in 21-14 win over Scottsbluff. Tilford also caught a 32-yard touchdown score in the victory.

Daeshawn Tolbert | Omaha South | QB – Tolbert completed 14-of-20 passes for 334 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.

Isaiah Weber | Gretna | RB – Weber rushed for two touchdowns and added a third on an 8-yard pass from Zane Flores in a 56-0 win over Omaha Central.

Jeter Worthley | Lincoln East | QB – The sophomore threw for 206 yards and added 96 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a 21-14 win over Lincoln Southeast.
