CLASS A GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Millard South (1-0) at No. 4 Elkhorn South (1-0)
– No. 6 Millard South cruised to a 38-14 win over rival Millard West in its opener behind 365 total yards and four touchdowns by Camden Kozeal, who will not play in the game due to a baseball showcase commitment. Gavin Nunnally caught a pair of scores, while Noah Feller rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown. Elkhorn South claimed a hard-fought 31-20 win over Lincoln Southeast. Junior Carson Rauner threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns with Jackson Moeller-Swan finishing with 186 yards and a score. Cole Ballard rushed for 125 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns to pace the Storm. The game will be televised on Cox/YurView.

CLASS B, C-1, C-2 GAME OF THE WEEK
C-2 No. 1 Norfolk Catholic (1-0) at C-2 No. 2 Ord (1-0)
– Norfolk Catholic took care of business over a very good Oakland-Craig team 37-12 behind 254 yards and five touchdowns from Karter Kerkman. Dylan Hurlbert accounted for three touchdowns in a 34-20 win over Central City in the opener. Sam Boettcher recorded 14 tackles and two tackles for the Chanticleers in the victory. The two teams met last season with Norfolk Catholic winning, 30-7.

No. 5 Omaha North (0-1) at Millard West (0-1)
– Omaha North had a two-point conversion attempt swatted away in the dying seconds in a 28-26 loss to No. 3 Bellevue West. Te’Shaun Porter rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the loss for the Vikings. Millard West lost to rival Millard South, 38-14. Freshman quarterback Will Anderson threw for 222 yards and a pair of scores in Week 1 for Millard West, while junior Jackson Williams had 166 receiving yards and was the recipient both of Anderson’s touchdown throws.
Papillion-LaVista (0-1) at No. 9 Papillion-LaVista South (2-0)
– Papillion-LaVista went toe-to-toe with Millard North in Week 1, losing 34-31 in overtime. Payton Prestito and Jordan Barrientos both rushed for more than 120 yards in a losing effort for the Monarchs. Running back Devyn Jones has averaged 166.5 yards per game in two wins and has rushed for five touchdowns for No. 9 Papillion-LaVista South.
B No. 1 Scottsbluff (1-0) at North Platte (0-2)
– Scottsbluff got off to a fast start with a 26-6 road win at Class B No. 5 Lincoln Pius X behind 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns by Sebastien Boyle. North Platte is coming off a 20-19 loss to Class A No. 10 Grand Island. Kolten Tilford rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs while Brock Roblee has two 100-yard games under his belt thus far. This game could go either way.
C-1 No. 4 Boone Central at C-1 No. 1 Aurora
– Alex Christo threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns as Boone Central defeated Broken Bow 42-21 in Week 1. Junior Brant Benes caught seven passes for 128 yards and a score in the victory. Aurora showed why it was the preseason No. 1 with an impressive 43-13 victory over Grand Island Northwest to open the season. Carlos Collazo rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns in the victory for the Huskies after rushing for more than 2,000 yards last season.
