Comments: Bellevue West remains at No. 3 after its 28-21 win over No. 7 Creighton Prep. There is no reason to move Prep down after a narrow last-minute lost to a top five team. Prep will figure into the Class A state title race in 2022 and is probably rated a little low in hindsight. Papillion-LaVista South remains at No. 9 after an impressive win over a very solid North Platte team in Week 0. With four battles between Top 10 teams looming in Week 1, a lot of questions will be answered early in the process. The only teams facing unranked opponents in the Top 10 are Gretna (Omaha Burke) on Thursday and No. 9 Papio South at Fremont.

Top Games in Week 1

No. 1 Omaha Westside at No. 7 Creighton Prep – It does not get any easier for Prep with a Week 1 battle with pretty much the consensus state No. 1 in Omaha Westside.
No. 3 Bellevue West at No. 5 Omaha North – The hosts will not like the idea of Bellevue West having a game under its belt. Make no mistake, Omaha North will be prepared.
No. 4 Elkhorn South at No. 8 Lincoln Southeast (4:30) – Elkhorn South will need to play well in the afternoon at Seacrest Field in a battle between Nebraska commits Maverick Noonan and Gunnar Gottula.
No. 10 Mlllard West at No. 6 Millard South – Two productive quarterbacks will be on display in Millard West junior Brody Peterson and Millard South’s Camden Kozeal.
