Nebraska HS Football has released its 2022 Preseason Class A All-State football team. Due to his average of 33 yards per catch, over half of his receptions resulting in touchdowns and his heavy Power 5 interest, explosive Lincoln East wide receiver Malachi Coleman is the 2022 Nebraska HS Football Offensive Preseason MVP.

Others strongly considered for the Preseason MVP were Grenta quarterback and Oklahoma State pledge Zane Flores along with Lincoln Southeast offensive tackle Gunner Gottula, who has committed to Nebraska.

First Team Offense
QB – Zane Flores | Gretna | 6’2/190
– Currently committed to Oklahoma State, Flores led Gretna to a 12-1 record and a victory in the Class A state championship game. Flores completed a remarkable 70.1 percent of his passes for 2,885 yards and 29 touchdowns while adding 10 rushing scores for good measure as a junior. Flores has more than 6,000 career passing yards for the Dragons.
RB – Marty Brown | Omaha Creighton Prep | 6’0/205
– Brown exploded for 250 yards and scored three total touchdowns in a 28-21 win over Millard West to put himself firmly on the map. The Junior Jay is committed to North Dakota State.
RB – Te’Shaun Porter | Omaha North | 5’11/200
– Porter rushed for three touchdowns in a first round upset over unbeaten Millard South in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Porter exploded for a career-high 290 yards in a 35-20 win over Fremont and finished his junior campaign with 1,610 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Class A semifinalists. Porter will be the catalyst of a dangerous Omaha North team in 2022.
WR – Dae’Vonn Hall | Bellevue West | 6’2/175 (Jr.)
– In a loaded receiving corps for Bellevue West, Hall is arguably the cream of the crop and a bona fide Power 5 prospects with offers to back it up. Hall caught 43 passes for 592 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore and teams up with fellow Power 5 prospect in quarterback Daniel Kaelin this season. Bellevue West has a gem in Hall.
WR – Beni Ngoyi | Lincoln High | 6’4/185
– Ngoyi’s frame and athleticism gives college scouts a lot to like. Ngoyi committed to Iowa State in July over Nebraska and Washington. As a junior, Ngoyi caught 25 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns for the Links. Ngoyi teaming up with Adonis Hutchinson should provide fireworks for the Links offense.
ATH – Cole Ballard | Elkhorn South | 6’0/190
– Elkhorn South’s top offensive option entering a promising season in 2022, Ballard rushed for 1,207 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior and picked up second team All-Metro honors according to the Omaha World-Herald as a defensive back.

OL – Mason Goldman | Gretna | 6’6/250
– Goldman earned first team All-State honors as a junior for Gretna as his team went on to win the Clasa A state championship. Goldman enters his senior season recent offers from Kansas and Memphis, with more Power 5 potentially coming his way the closer it gets to the December signing period due to his frame and high ceiling.
OL – Gunnar Gottula | Lincoln Southeast | 6’6/285
– The Nebraska verbal was named first team All-Class A by the Omaha World-Herald and possesses the perfect frame for big time college football. Gottula also has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, and Kansas State and committed to the Huskers early in the process.
OL – Max Hogan | Millard North | 6’3/275

OL – Payton McDonald | Omaha Westside | 6’3/300
– McDonald comes over from Omaha Burke and could make a huge impact. Burke averaged nearly 300 yards per game in 2021 with McDonald up front. The Westside offense has the potential to be explosive and McDonald provides instant help up front for a possible run at the Class A state title.
OL – Sam Sledge | Omaha Creighton Prep | 6’5/270
– Another in-state offensive line product committed to Nebraska, Sledge paved the way for a Prep offense that averaged over 360 yards per game. Sledge was named first team All-Class A by the Omaha World-Herald in 2021.
